"1917"
1917 is my materiality-focused design project inspired by the aesthetic of the industrial revolution-era Britain and Russian constructivism. I studied how color, shape and rhythm were used in constructivist and industrialist visual art, and developed my own collection of prints and manipulated textiles.
My goal was to explore the ways to visually communicate rhythm through both the 2d and 3d forms, using a combination of conventional textiles and household materials, alternating between softness and structure, as well as maintaining a a minimal color palette and strong geometric order, crucial to the constructivist art.

"Theodora"

THEODORA is a capsule collection of evening looks inspired by the Byzantine mosaics. Every look features the repeat print of my design, based on the principles of color theory, and incorporates the elements of Byzantine iconography. By turning my original hand sketches into digital Illustrator files, I ensured the prints maintained the perfect geometry, an essential element of ancient Byzantine art.

Some of the flower motif repeats I designed for the damask-inspired collection of screenprinted textiles from Paola Melendez Casa. Each pattern variation has been created from a composition of individual hand-drawn elements, scanned and "cleaned-up" in Photoshop.
